For children 0-12 months & their caregiver. Lap bounces, tickle rhymes & other early literacy activities. Early Literacy is what children know about reading and writing before they can actually begin to learn to read and write. Learn what the early literacy skills are and simple activities to weave into your day to build them.

Picture Book Time

From examples, you will learn what you should and should not do when developing your company’s identity for flyers, brochures and business cards and what you need to know about graphics before having print and web advertising custom-made. Find out how to make cost effective decisions with a limited advertising budget.

Mel & Ila Writing Workshop

This is a safe place to bring your written darlings-
be they poetry or prose
be they fiction or non-fiction

We meet on the second Friday of each month in the meeting room at the Ygnacio Valley Library.
Bring a piece on which you are currently working!

We treat each others’ work with the dignity and respect we each deserve.
We try to help each other polish any rough spots.
We work at making good pieces even better.

Please bring half a dozen copies of the piece you want to work on.

YGNACIO VALLEY LIBRARY BOOKMARK CONTEST; JAN 29 - FEB 26

For children in grades 1 - 5. Using the designated entry form, design a bookmark on the theme "Feed Your Mind @ Your Library". Winners from each grade will be honored at a party given by The Friends of the Ygnacio Valley Library, win a prize and have their design made into a bookmark to be distributed during National Library Week, April 11 - 17. Pick up entry forms at the Ygnacio Valley Library.
